Pugiev slugs 2 home runs, Fighting Dachsunds Move to 48-29
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Vladya Pugiev, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the Tremont Doubledays, 9-8. Pugiev hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Fighting Dachsunds. Ellenburg reliever Garrett Harrington was credited with the win, to go to 6-2. Carlos Costello took the loss for Tremont. Kyung-un Yi closed it out for his 20th save.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman José Vázquez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Tremont pitcher Carlos Costello, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ellenburg on top, 9-8.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Vázquez said.

Ellenburg improves to 48-29 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.
