Targaryens Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Halberds
|
Fans who came to Ballpark of Alloway watched the Royse City Targaryens and the Alloway Halberds fight to the finish.
The Royse City Targaryens turned back the Alloway Halberds, 5-4, at Ballpark of Alloway. Javier Chávez was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 2 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Earl Farley was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Had Santiago Miranda not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Miranda hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Targaryens.
Chávez told a Royse City Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
