Doubledays Turn Back Naperville, 4-2

The Tremont Doubledays picked up a win at Doubledays Stadium, knocking off the Naperville Battlekings, 4-2. Starting pitcher Christian Irgoyen, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Seung-hyeon So was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. The Battlekings, now 39-36, have lost 4 in a row.
The Doubledays got a big at-bat from catcher Pablo Ledesma. For the game, Ledesma went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 21st hit of the season gave Tremont a 3-1 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Irgoyen.
