Doubledays Shut Out Battlekings
|
The Tremont Doubledays got a strong performance from pitcher Daniel Lavalley, who stymied the Naperville offense en route to a 1-0 win at Doubledays Stadium. In 7.1 innings, Lavalley surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. At 41-33, Tremont is in second place in the Silver AAA.
Ricardo Pérez drew 1 walk for Tremont. The 28-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Risto Hannila. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lavalley told reporters after the game.
