In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Alloway pitcher Bob Browning did his part in helping his team beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Browning got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Browning allowed 2 earned runs.
Jordan Hollins's at-bat in the top of the first was significant for the Halberds. Coming to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and Alloway leading 1-0, the third baseman hit a run-scoring single.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Hollins told the Alloway Citizen.
The 4th-place Golden Cranes have lost 4 consecutive games.
