Sakai Helps Battlekings Run Win Streak to 5
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes and Naperville Battlekings brought some excitement to Crane Field.

The Naperville Battlekings handed the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes a loss at Crane Field. The final score was 8-1. Naohiro Sakai was named player of the game for Naperville. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 3 runs and drove in 1. Gregory Bahena got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 1.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Sakai, who is tied for 3rd in the SAAA in RBI with 50, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Battlekings into the lead, 1-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Naperville manager Marcus Terry.
