Targaryens Topple Doubledays with Late Rally

The Royse City Targaryens downed the Tremont Doubledays, 5-4, at Doubledays Stadium. The Targaryens were led by Gary Malone, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. Lou Hartling was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 17 save opportunities. The Targaryens improved to 34-35.
Had Colin Worthington not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Worthington hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Targaryens.
"This was a good win," said Worthington.
