The Athletic Club KC Reserves did just enough to sneak past the Royse City Targaryens, 5-4, at Royse City Stadium. Athletic Club KC pitcher Ángel Rivera earned player of the game honors. Rivera went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-5. António Hernández was credited with the save for Athletic Club KC, his 6th of the season.
The Reserves got a big at-bat from shortstop Sang-your Yu. For the game, Yu was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Athletic Club KC a 3-1 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Yu, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Athletic Club KC currently is in last place in the Silver AAA at 28-38.
