Rainbow Mermaids Jolt Grey Wolves with Late Rally
Benefiting from Mike Strickland's productive game, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids downed the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 7-4. Strickland went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rainbow Mermaids. Ilie Paunescu finished to wrap up his 4th save. Northern Virginia is now 31-26, while Vancouver is 31-26.

Strickland had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Roy Shively, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Rainbow Mermaids a 5-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Strickland.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Strickland.
