Reserves Squelch Fighting Dachsunds Offense in Shutout Win
|
Athletic Club KC turned a good effort from starter Jesús Otero into a win over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The final score was 5-0. Otero, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs. Athletic Club KC is now 26-37.
Athletic Club KC catcher Shintaro Yamada contributed to the cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth. For the game, Yamada went 1-3 with a double and a walk.
In comments to the Athletic Club KC Today, Yamada admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
