Late Rally by Supernovas Secures Win
|
Fans who came to Nuclear Stadium watched the Scranton Supernovas and the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds fight to the finish.
The Scranton Supernovas picked up a win at Nuclear Stadium, knocking off the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 4-3. Starting pitcher Raúl Melro, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Jeff Schneider picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-0. Ed Stark was tagged with the loss. Victor Brey converted his 7th save in 9 tries.
Scranton took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, designated hitter Felipe Bruno hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Bruno. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
At 26-29, Scranton is in 8th place in the Silver AAA.
