Fighting Dachsunds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Halberds
|
Dog Park in Ellenburg was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and the Alloway Halberds.
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds overcame a good performance by Alloway first baseman Myron Rosenbalm to knock off Alloway, 5-4, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Rosenbalm was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ellenburg reliever Kyung-un Yi picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Pat McCormick absorbed the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Ellenburg left fielder Alan McLennan, facing Pat McCormick, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Fighting Dachsunds the 5-4 win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," McLennan said.
Ellenburg leads the Silver AAA by 8 games.
