Gryfindor pitcher Damien Hayward did his part in helping his team beat the Alloway Halberds, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Eduardo Molina picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Akihiko Rin was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Suezo Amano, his 10th.
Emílio Gonzáles's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a cutter from Akihiko Rin for a solo home run. It put Gryfindor in front, 4-3.
"We did a lot of things right," said Gonzáles.
The 9th-place Braves have won 6 in a row.
