Battlekings Lose, 7-4, at Nuclear Stadium
|
Scranton first baseman Eddie Sachs was instrumental in his team's 7-4 win over the Naperville Battlekings. Sachs, who leads the SAAA in hits with 65, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Supernovas. Will Hoffman was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Victor Brey finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Early in the game, catcher Chris Fries had a 2-run single for Scranton. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Supernovas on top, 2-1.
"We'll savor this win," Fries told the Scranton Times, "then get ready for the next game."
