The Port Royal Disaster topped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 9-3, in USSL Triple A action at Ballpark of Port Royal. The player of the game was Port Royal left fielder Ricky Payton. Claudio Mateo got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Port Royal is now 22-24.

Payton had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Disaster went on to win.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Payton told the Port Royal News.
