Halberds Stymie Scranton, Take 4-1 Win
|
Alloway Halberds starter Pat McCormick was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Scranton Supernovas, 4-1. McCormick, now 5-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. The win puts the Halberds at 22-22, while the Supernovas drop to 19-25.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but McCormick was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Scranton trailing 1-0, McCormick retired Phil Moore, who flied out.
