The Scranton Supernovas did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Crane Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Jay Mahabir, who captured player of the game honors. Today's win puts Scranton at 18-24, while Santa Barbara falls to 20-22.
Felipe Bruno came through for Scranton in the top of the fourth. With no one out, Bruno victimized Donald Gregory with a solo home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put Scranton on top, 3-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Mahabir told a Scranton Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
