Late Rally by Disaster Secures Win
|
The Port Royal Disaster stopped the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 5-4, behind an impressive performance from Brandon Cooper. The 30-year old catcher made life miserable for Athletic Club KC pitching. He was 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times. Port Royal occupies 5th place in the Silver AAA at 17-18.
Aurelio Jiménez went 2 for 3 with 2 singles for Port Royal. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Alfonso Álvarez. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Cooper told the Port Royal News.
