Despite a fine performance by third baseman Andrés Gonzáles, the Tremont Doubledays suffered a 11-5 loss to the Royse City Targaryens. Gonzáles slugged 2 home runs. Royse City reliever Andrés Martínez got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Leroy Picot was tagged with the loss. The Doubledays, at 20-14, have lost 4 straight games.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Pedro Tavárez didn't flinch. With a runner on 2nd and Tremont trailing 6-5, Tavárez retired Andrés Gonzáles to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Tavárez, with a wink.
