Disaster Come Up Short at Scranton
|
Scranton rode a fine outing from starter José Cotilla to victory over the Port Royal Disaster at Nuclear Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Cotilla picked up the win for Scranton, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. Jeff Schneider earned the save for Scranton, his 2nd of the year.
Mikko Haataja, who is rated as the 31st best prospect by BNN, helped out the Scranton cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with a double.
"Enjoyed this one," Cotilla told the Scranton Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The 'W' lifts Scranton's record to 12-21.
