|
The Port Royal Disaster trumped the Scranton Supernovas, 7-3, at Nuclear Stadium. Port Royal left fielder Ricky Payton was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Port Royal reliever Alfredo Hernández picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Lincoln Spooner shouldered the loss. The last-place Supernovas have lost 4 straight games.
Payton came through with some timely hitting for Port Royal. With the score 1-0 in the top of the second and two down, Payton hit a 0-2 cutter for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 4-0, Port Royal.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Payton said after the game.
