The Port Royal Disaster defeated the Scranton Supernovas, 1-0, in USSL Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium, with Port Royal pitcher Claudio Mateo named player of the game. Jon King earned the save for Port Royal, his 9th of the year. Port Royal is now 14-17.
Port Royal relied on the bat of Ricky Payton to get the win. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Disaster ahead, 1-0. For the game, Payton had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Mateo told a Port Royal News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
