Golden Cranes Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Halberds
|
The Alloway Halberds got a superb performance from pitcher Pat McCormick. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santa Barbara. The Golden Cranes won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, McCormick was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. Enrique García picked up the save, his 10th. Santa Barbara is now 15-14, while Alloway is 14-15.
It could have been a different outcome for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Christian Turner, the 26-year old center fielder . Turner contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Santa Barbara up, 5-2.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Turner.
