Fighting Dachsunds Hold Off Doubledays, 5-4
|
It was a fun time at Dog Park in Ellenburg, where the Tremont Doubledays and Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds tangled.
Ellenburg first baseman Shelby Noonan was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Tremont Doubledays. Noonan, who leads the SAAA in home runs with 12, went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Fighting Dachsunds. Kyung-un Yi picked up the save, his 11th.
Vladya Pugiev, who is tied for 2nd in the SAAA in runs scored with 20, aided the Ellenburg cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Pugiev told the Ellenburg Today.
The Fighting Dachsunds improved to a lofty 20-7.
