Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Disaster
|
Masaharu Sakata never let Tremont get something going. The Port Royal right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Disaster to a 2-1 win. Port Royal reliever Alfredo Hernández picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Alonso Martínez absorbed the loss. Port Royal goes to 9-12, Tremont to 15-6.
Late in the game, third baseman Mitchell Cusimano had a big at-bat for Port Royal. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Alonso Martínez. The play gave the Disaster a 2-1 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cusimano said after the game.
