The Port Royal Disaster got a strong performance from pitcher Kyuichi Hori, who stymied the Tremont offense en route to a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Port Royal. Jon King closed the game out for Port Royal, earning his 6th save. Losses have been few and far between for the Doubledays so far this season. Their record drops to 14-5.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Loren Stallings was at the plate when Port Royal scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Disaster to go in front, 3-2.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Stallings told the Port Royal News.
