Halberds Solve Battlekings, 5-3

Jordan Hollins left his imprint on the 5-3 Alloway win against the Naperville Battlekings. Hollins, who is rated as the 89th best prospect by BNN, went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Alloway reliever Juan Carlos Herrera picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alberto Mendoza was saddled with the loss. Marcos Sarmiento picked up the save, his 2nd.
Alloway designated hitter José Zarate changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when he belted a 3-run home run off Alberto Mendoza. His 1st home run of the season put Alloway in front, 4-2.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Zarate. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Losses have been few and far between for the Battlekings, who are now 7-3.
