Reserves Sneak Past Doubledays, 4-3
|
The Tremont Doubledays got a superb performance from pitcher Jeff Bradshaw. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Athletic Club KC. The Reserves won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Bradshaw was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Athletic Club KC reliever Jesús Márquez was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Alonso Martínez took the loss for Tremont. Ángel Rivera finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Roger Caffyn hit a sacrifice fly. The Reserves took the lead, 4-3.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Tremont manager Lendon Tipton said following the tough loss.
Losses have been few and far between for the Doubledays so far this season. Their record drops to 7-3.
