Supernovas Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
Benefiting from Kelvin Abbott's productive game, the Scranton Supernovas downed the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 10-7. Abbott was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Supernovas. Frank Bryant picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ed Stark was tagged with the loss. Victor Brey got credit for the save for Scranton. It was his 2nd of the year.

The Supernovas got a big at-bat from second baseman Senior Pond. For the game, Pond went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Scranton a 5-2 lead.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Pond said.

Scranton is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 8 games.
