Doubledays Score Late, Upend Golden Cranes, 8-4

A nice crowd turned out to see the Tremont Doubledays and Santa Barbara Golden Cranes clash at Crane Field.
Starting pitcher WyDale Curry pitched well enough to help the Tremont Doubledays beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes by the score of 8-4. The Doubledays, now 5-1, have been on a roll in the early going.
Had Martín Méndez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Méndez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Doubledays.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Tremont skipper Lendon Tipton.
