The Salt Lake City Buzz bested the Calgary Lynx, 9-6, at Lynx Stadium. Juan Rivas was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Salt Lake City reliever Shotaro Sugahara got the win, raising his record to 1-0. José Marroquín was tagged with the loss. The win pushes Salt Lake City to a record of 3-0.
Oliver Aranda's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a forkball from José Marroquín for a run-scoring double. It put Salt Lake City in front, 7-6.
