Drummers Win, Pacheco goes 3-for-4
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves inaugurated the 2031 campaign with a disappointing 13-9 loss to the Tortolita Drummers at Thunderbirds Stadium. Tortolita first baseman Ricardo Pacheco had a big impact on the outcome. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Francisco Burgos got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 7 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4.

It could have been a different outcome for Tortolita, had it not been for Sean Godron, the 27-year old right fielder . Godron contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Tortolita up, 7-5.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Tortolita manager Arturo Chávez.
