Herons Beat Sixshooters in 10
|
The Westwood Sixshooters got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel Angel Martínez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Glendale. The Herons won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Martínez was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Glendale, at 52-50, sits in 6th place in the Silver AA.
In the top of the ninth inning, left fielder Xu Cheng came through big-time for the Herons. With Glendale trailing 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
In postgame comments, Cheng said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
