José Blanco pitched a gem to lead Westwood to a 4-1 victory over the Salem Misfits. In 6.2 innings, Blanco surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Paco Salazar earned save number 9.
Datu Lesaca, who is rated as the 27th best prospect by BNN, aided the Westwood cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with 2 doubles.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Blanco said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Westwood currently is in 8th place in the Silver AA at 47-52.
