Long Island rode a fine outing from starter Winston Wenham to victory over the Glendale Herons at Heron Field. The final score was 4-2. Carlos Costello earned the save for Long Island, his 1st of the year. Long Island is now 34-58.

Had Alfredo Escalante not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Escalante hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Seawolves.

After the game, Long Island manager Matt Helsley applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
