Blue Sox Raise Rally Flag, Beat Glendale, 6-5

The Irving Blue Sox topped the Glendale Herons by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to pinch hitter Vince Staples. Staples was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Sox on the day. Irving bumps their record to 45-39 with the win.
Staples had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-1 cutter from Nick Riviera, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Blue Sox a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Staples.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Staples said.
