Patriots Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Boston rode a good effort from starter Doug Carlton to beat the Panama City Piranhas at The Tank. The final score was 5-2. The winning pitcher was Carlton, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. The Patriots, now 1-4, have not found much traction so far in 2031.
Boston took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jorge Alejándrez hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Patriots.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
