Blue Sox Prevail, 6-4, Over Marquette
|
The Irving Blue Sox topped the Marquette Miners by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Octávio Beltzán. Beltzán went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk for the Blue Sox. Cheung Lai got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Irving is now 29-33.
The Blue Sox got a big at-bat from left fielder Juan Jimínez. For the game, Jimínez went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Irving a 4-3 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Beltzán said after the game.
