Laguna Delivers Walk-Off Win for Mermen
Myrtle Beach played host to Long Island at the friendly confines of Tennille Grounds.

Despite a great performance by Long Island catcher DeAndre Thomas, the Myrtle Beach Mermen defeated the Seawolves by the score of 9-8 at Tennille Grounds. Thomas went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Bob Christison, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Juan Laguna came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Long Island pitcher Vinny Mariani, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Myrtle Beach on top, 9-8.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Laguna said.

Myrtle Beach now has a 3-game win streak.
