Victory Pushes Mermen Record to 31-30
|
Myrtle Beach Mermen starter Ryunosuke Kurota turned in an exceptional performance against the Long Island Seawolves at Tennille Grounds, resulting in a Myrtle Beach win, 3-2. In 7 innings, Kurota surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 6. He allowed 2 runs. Aaron Houchens notched his 1st save in 2 chances.
The Mermen got a big at-bat from second baseman Henry Madore. For the game, Madore went 1 for 2 with a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 36th hit of the season gave Myrtle Beach a 3-2 lead.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Kurota told the Myrtle Beach Today.
At 31-30, Myrtle Beach is in 5th place in the Silver AA.
