The Westwood Sixshooters got a strong performance from pitcher Miguel Angel Martínez, who stymied the Myrtle Beach offense en route to a 2-0 win at Sixshooters Stadium. The Sixshooters saw their record improve to 27-32.

The Mermen had trouble solving Martínez, who surrendered no earned runs on 2 hits over 8 innings.

Martínez said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
