Mermen Topple Blue Sox with Late Rally

Irving center fielder Octávio Beltzán had a good game, even if his team did not. The Blue Sox dropped a 7-6 decision to Myrtle Beach at Tennille Grounds. Beltzán was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bob Christison got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. Myrtle Beach occupies 5th place in the Silver AA at 28-28.
Félix Castellanos was the walk-off hero for Myrtle Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mermen designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We found a way to get it done," Castellanos said.
