Rainbow Mermaids Stymie Phoenix, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids went home winners at Chase Field, thanks in large part to starter Eric Matson. Matson silenced the Phoenix Hotspur, enabling Northern Virginia to grab the 4-1 win. The win gives Northern Virginia a record of 3-2.
With a runner on 2nd and one out in the top of the third inning, first baseman Kyoji Hakoda delivered big for the Rainbow Mermaids. Northern Virginia was leading 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Hakoda.
