Morín Jr. Rips Long Island for 5 Hits
|
Júlio Morín Jr. put on a hitting clinic today as the Westwood Sixshooters dumped the Long Island Seawolves 12-1 at Sixshooters Stadium.
The Westwood second baseman made Long Island defenders earn their pay, lashing Long Island pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Morín Jr. said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Júlio Morín Jr. hit a solo-shot off Winston Wenham in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.
Morín Jr. is hitting .284 this year with 4 home runs and 23 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .365, 18 walks and scored 27 times.
