Miners Get One-Run Win at Glendale
|
The Marquette Miners eked out a 2-1 win versus the Glendale Herons at Heron Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Gerald Bolton, who captured player of the game honors. Earning his 7th save of the year was Félix Santiago. Marquette is now 21-21, while Glendale is 22-20.
Alejandro Márquez drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate for Marquette. In the top of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Márquez delivered for the Miners. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Marquette on top, 2-1.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Márquez.
