Sixshooters Slip Past Myrtle Beach, 3-2
|
The Westwood Sixshooters got a strong performance from pitcher Ray Mangas, who stymied the Myrtle Beach offense en route to a 3-2 win at Sixshooters Stadium. The winner was Raúl Colón in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Luis Vega took the loss. The Mermen, now 21-18, have lost 4 straight.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Westwood right fielder Nick Hoskins, facing Luis Vega, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Sixshooters the 3-2 win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Myrtle Beach manager José González said following the tough loss.
