Late Rally by Divided Secures Win
|
Vancouver got a terrific performance from pitcher Ambrose Randall, but it wasn't enough to beat the D.C. Divided. D.C. won the Washington Stadium contest, 5-3. Randall was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. D.C. reliever Denver Milne picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Enrico Reséndez was saddled with the loss. D.C. is now 17-26.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With D.C. trailing 3-2, Brant Thigpen hit a slider from Enrico Reséndez to left for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Divided had a walk-off win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Thigpen.
