Big Day for Lewis as Cattlemen Down Hotspur, 5-2
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen stymied the Phoenix Hotspur, 5-2, at The Cattle Pen. Bart Lewis, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Ft. Worth. Robbie Betchley was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Earning his 10th save for Ft. Worth was Asher Spivey.
The Cattlemen got a big at-bat from left fielder Roberto Mosca. For the game, Mosca went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Ft. Worth a 3-1 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Lewis said after the game.
Ft. Worth is now 16-26.
