Lannister United right-hander Eugenio Piñeiro made an effective start against the Athletic Club KC Academy at Lionheart Field, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Piñeiro picked up the win for Lannister United, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. Harry Mander earned his 10th save in 12 tries.
Had Jayden Laming not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Laming hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Lionhearts.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Laming told the Lannister United Observer. "You win just by scoring more runs."
