Herons Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Lionhearts
|
Glendale turned a good effort from starter Hengkie Iriawan into a win over the Lannister United Lionhearts at Heron Field. The final score was 7-1. Glendale currently is in 6th place in the Silver AA at 12-12.
Michael Sweeney, who is tied for 3rd in the SAA in home runs with 5, helped out the Glendale cause in the bottom of the first inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Iriawan. "Successful pitchers do it."
